Word to PDF

Convert a .docx file to PDF right in your browser, with a preview first.

Loading the tool…

Convert a Word document to PDF without sending it anywhere. The .docx is drawn in your browser first, so you see the layout before you download, and the PDF keeps real, selectable text. Fonts are substituted with standard PDF fonts, so a document set in Calibri or Cambria will look a little different; for the closest match, use the Print button, which goes through your browser with your installed fonts and lets you save as PDF from there.

How it works

  1. Drop in the .docx file and check the preview.
  2. Click Download as PDF.
  3. For exact fonts, click Print and choose "Save as PDF" in the print dialog instead.

Questions about word to pdf

Does it handle .doc files from old versions of Word?
Not yet. Open the file in Word or LibreOffice and save it as .docx first.
What is different from Word's own "Save as PDF"?
Word substitutes nothing, so it wins on fidelity. This tool is for when you do not have Word at hand, or when the document must not leave your device.
Are headers, footers and images kept?
Yes. Headers, footers, images, tables and text formatting are rendered. Very complex layouts such as text boxes and wrapped shapes may shift.
