PDF to Word

Turn a PDF into a Word document you can edit. The text is pulled out with its fonts, sizes, bold and italic, rebuilt into paragraphs and headings, and the images go in where they belong, all inside your browser. Tables with visible borders are rebuilt as real Word tables, merged cells and all; running headers and footers go into Word's own header and footer; and the spacing between paragraphs follows the original page. It is at its best on letters, reports, essays and contracts. Multi-column layouts come out as plain paragraphs, and a scanned PDF has no text to convert.

Questions about pdf to word

Will it look exactly like the PDF?

No converter can promise that, and this one does not try. It gives you the text with its formatting so you can edit it; the layout is rebuilt by Word from the fonts, sizes and paragraphs. Expect a faithful text document, not a pixel copy.

Why is my Word file empty?

The PDF is a scan: pictures of pages with no text layer. That needs OCR, which is not built yet. PDF to text will show the same emptiness.

What happens to tables?

A table with visible borders is rebuilt as a real Word table you can edit, including cells merged across rows or columns, and a table split by a page break is joined back into one. A table drawn without any borders cannot be detected, so its rows come through as tab-separated text.

Is the file uploaded to convert it?

No. The PDF is read and the Word file is written on your device. Nothing goes to a server.
